Van Herk Groep
Van Herk Groep is the collective name for the businesses and companies belonging to the Van Herk family of Rotterdam. Van Herk Groep was founded by Aat van Herk (1951). Van Herk Groep operates as an independent business in a substantial number of sectors in the Dutch economy: real estate, construction, project development and biotechnology/life sciences.
Van Herk Ventures invests in the lifesciences sector through direct investments in private and listed companies and in venture capital funds. For listed companies we can invest globally and for the private companies and venture capital funds we focus on the Benelux.
Wageningen University
Wageningen University, part of Wageningen UR, is the only university in the Netherlands to focus specifically on the theme ‘healthy food and living environment’. They do so by working closely together with governments and the business community. Their research and education are strongly geared toward application in practice. This is achieved through the close cooperation across different study directions and the combination of the natural and social sciences. This allows them to obtain an integrated approach of actual social themes, such as climate change, unhealthy lifestyles, the continued pressure on natural habitats, and the well-being of animals. The world is their working area. Their researchers are active around the globe and their university hosts students from over 100 countries.

The university works together with research institutes and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, also part of Wageningen UR. Wageningen UR has branches all over The Netherlands (and in China and Brazil, by the way). A large number of lecturers, researchers and other employees are based at Wageningen Campus.Our education and research come highly recommended. Student numbers are growing strongly. Rabo Ventures is a part of Rabo Corporate Investments, Rabobank’s captive investment franchise.
