Ceradis B.V. develops and markets innovative environmentally friendly solutions for plant nutrition and crop protection, aiming to reduce usage of chemical load in agriculture by 50%. The company Ceradis was founded in the Netherlands as a spin-off of Wageningen University and still has a close relationship with their research departments. Ceradis has 4 current technology platforms and is working on strengthening these and adding to them. Each platform is covered by one or multiple patents.


Responsible for all finance & business development activities for the Ceradis Group worldwide. Ceradis currently is mainly active in Europe, LATAM and the USA.


  • Responsible for the financial health of Ceradis
    • Ensuring solid financial insight in Ceradis Group (quarterly & annual reports), including setting up an effective management reporting system
    • Making yearly budgets and forecasts, as well as improving the process and system over time
    • Analysing financial reports and making suggestions for improvements
    • Reporting to the board of directors and shareholders
    • Making suggestions for the improvement of working capital, as well as the purchase, sales and inventory processes
    • Leading efforts to attract funding where needed (loans, subsidies, external investments)
    • Maintaining contacts with external accountants, fiscal and legal advisors
  • Responsible for business development for Ceradis
    • Coming up with ideas regarding the expansion of the company, including tracking trends and developments in the market relevant for Ceradis
    • Setting up, evaluating and tracking business plans for substantial investments
    • Acting on specific expansion or improvement options such as negotiating contracts, setting up new legal entities,
  • Reporting to the board of directors and shareholders on financial and BD matters
  • Direct line responsibility
    • Manage and strengthen the finance team
    • Member of MT
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and financial contracts
  • All other duties assigned on an ad hoc basis


  • Master’s Degree obtained or can operate at that thought level
  • Internationally oriented
  • Flexible with entrepreneurial spirit who takes ownership, a real go-getter
  • Hands-on and willing to fulfil practical tasks
  • Fluent in Dutch, English
  • Ability to steer, motivate and manage teams and other people (eg consultants) working for Ceradis
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, also proficient in Dutch
  • Ability to travel to markets, customers and industry events (10-20%).
